Definition | A <SPECIFIC SPEED> is an <IndirectProperty> that refers to a <ROTATIONAL SPEED> (in rpm) that a geometrically similar impeller would need to operate in order to deliver 1 L/s of fluid at a head of 1 m (US units : 1 USgal/min at a head of 1 ft ). It is calculated as: nq=(N*(Q^0,5))/(H^0,75) where nq=specific speed, N=rotative speed in revolutions per minute, Q=total pump flow in cubic meters per second, H=head per stage in meters |
